    The director of King Fahad Causeway customs says that they appreciate the efforts of clearing agents and strive to ease the obstacles
     
     
    The director of King Fahad Causeway customs Fahad bin Dhaifallah aloaibi asserted that the department is keen on reducing all the obstacles that clearing agents tend to face. Moreover, he asserted that the role of clearing agents is to facilitate commercial activity. All these topics were discussed in a meeting with the customs clearing committee members in Asharqia Chamber, on Sunday 8 November 2015.  The meetings deliberated several questions that concern clearing agents, on top of which is the number of tickets that clearing agents receive. Alotaibi asserted that the suggestion to extend the validity of the clearing card to match the dispatching licence.
     
    The issue of parking for the Causeway employees was discussed as well. Clearing agents voiced their complaint that the number of parking did not accommodate the workers. The director of the causeway answered this criticism by asserting that there are efforts join forces with the King Fahad Causeway Authority to expand the parking space for clearing agents and the departments that operate on the causeway.  
     
    As for the issue of the working hours to approve of raw materials, which was raised by clearing agents, AlOtaibi asserted that clearing raw materials is available 24 hours a day to facilitate the process and eliminate any delays. The meeting reviewed the situation of clearance agencies and the available services. AlOtaibi mentioned that this issue is in the hands of King Fahad Causeway authority, and explained that the customs authority is always supporting clearance agents as part of their effort to develop the commercial and economic activity in general.
     
    As for the customs fees on small sized exports, AlOtaibi mentioned that personal exports that are accompanied by the exporter or not in commercial quantities are exempt of the country of origin certificate, and only the receipt is required. AlOtaibi asserted at the end of the meeting on the importance of putting all the information accurately on the website and connecting the insurance information quickly.
